Online class!
Students will work from photos
they take around their city. Noah will talk
about perspective and will teach the use of
plumb lines, comparative measurement, and tilt
angle to find correct proportions. Noah will
show how he mixes colours and talk about how he
thinks about colour when painting. You will
learn how to start your painting, see and record
shapes clearly and simply, and model form by
carefully observing the properties of light.
Noah will
live stream his demo to start the class.
Students will work at home from their own
photos. Students will email photos of their
work in progress during the class and Noah
will critique and help each student on the
live stream.
You need an internet connection and a computer,
laptop or tablet to watch as well as a cell
phone with a camera or a digital camera to take
pictures of your work and email them to me
during the class!
Students can work on a new painting each class
or work on the same painting for a few classes.
Lots of demos and individual
instruction!
All levels of experience welcome but some
drawing experience recommended.

Student comments
"I have taken both
portrait painting and drawing from Noah Layne
and found him to be not only a brilliant artist
but an exceptional teacher. He is both kind and
patient but most importantly I have noticed an
improvement in my skill level. I intend to take
more classes from him."
