Oil Portrait Painting

Come learn
techniques for painting the portrait. In this
class there will be four, three week long poses.
Noah will show you classical techniques for
painting a realistic portrait. Noah will teach the
use of plumb lines, comparative measurement, and
tilt angle to find correct proportions. Noah will
show how he mixes colours and talk about how he
thinks about colour when painting. Working from
live clothed models, you will learn how to start
your painting, see and record shapes clearly and
simply, and model form by carefully observing the
properties of light. September 8th to December 1st No class Thanksgiving weekend Oct. 13th You will work on four paintings over the twelve week class. Each painting will be three weeks long. Week One: Students will work with a limited palette of colours, working on proportion and value. Week two: Students will work with a full colour palette refining and finishing their painting from the previous week. Week three: Students will work with a full colour palette refining and finishing their painting from the previous week. Week Four: New painting. Students will work with a limited palette of colours, working on proportion and value. Week five: Students will work with a full colour palette refining and finishing their painting from the previous week. Week six: Students will work with a full colour palette refining and finishing their painting from the previous week. Week Seven: New painting. Students will work with a limited palette of colours, working on proportion and value. Week eight: Students will work with a full colour palette refining and finishing their painting from the previous week. Week nine: Students will work with a full colour palette refining and finishing their painting from the previous week. Week Ten: New painting. Students will work with a limited palette of colours, working on proportion and value. Week eleven: Students will work with a full colour palette refining and finishing their painting from the previous week. Week twelve: Students will work with a full colour palette refining and finishing their painting from the previous week. Lots of demos and individual instruction! All levels of experience welcome but some drawing experience recommended. Cost $693
