Portrait Drawing Class

  July 7th to July 28th

Online Class!

Drawing is the foundation of all realist art. In this 4 week course, Noah will show you classical techniques for drawing a realistic portrait. Noah will teach the use of plumb lines, comparative measurement, and tilt angle to find correct proportions. You will learn how to start your drawing, see and record shapes clearly and simply, and model form by carefully observing the properties of light.

You will work on a new drawing each week.

Noah will live stream his demo to start the class. Students will work at home from a portrait photo that will be emailed to each student. Students will email photos of their work in progress during the class and Noah will critique and help each students on the live stream.

You need an internet connection and a computer, laptop or tablet to watch as well as a cell phone with a camera or a digital camera to take pictures of your work and email them to me during the class!

Lots of demos and individual instruction!

Student comments

"Noah is an excellent draughtsman and a caring and attentive teacher. I studied drawing with Noah for a year and learned a lot of techniques which greatly improved my representational drawing. I highly recommend his class to anyone looking to enhance their observational skills-the knowledge will benefit your artistic practice immensely!"
