Drawing is the
foundation of all realist art. In this 4 week
course, Noah will show you classical techniques
for drawing a realistic portrait. Noah will teach
the use of plumb lines, comparative measurement,
and tilt angle to find correct proportions. You
will learn how to start your drawing, see and
record shapes clearly and simply, and model form
You will work on self-portraits in this class.
Students can either work for a photo of themselves
or use a mirror. Students can work on one drawing
for the 4 weeks or do new self portraits each week.

We will work on grey
paper with pencils and white pastel.
Noah will live stream his demo to start the class.
Students will work at home from a portrait photo
that will be emailed to each student. Students will
email photos of their work in progress during the
class and Noah will critique and help each students
on the live stream.
You need an internet connection and a computer,
laptop or tablet to watch as well as a cell phone
with a camera or a digital camera to take pictures
of your work and email them to me during the class!
