Oil Portrait Painting Class

Sunday afternoons 1:30-5pm

May 21st to June 25th
Waiting list being taken, email to join the list

Come learn classical techniques for painting the portrait. In this 6 week course, Noah will show you classical techniques for painting a realistic portrait. Noah will teach the use of plumb lines, comparative measurement, and tilt angle to find correct proportions. Noah will show how he mixes colours and how to think about colour in your painting. Working from a live clothed model, you will learn how to start your painting, see and record shapes clearly and simply, and model form by carefully observing the properties of light.

You will work on one painting over the 6 classes. You will start with a drawing which you will transfer to your canvas before working with oil paint in layers to a finished painting.

Lots of demos and individual instruction!
All levels of experience welcome but some drawing experience encouraged.
Max of 8 students.

Cost $315 includes GST and model fees
